Aging By Design Research Materials
Here are some of the materials that we used in the initial research phase of Aging By Design. You can pull questions from these tools and adapt them to your use. These provide a few example of how you might collect input from older adults and caregivers, but you are certainly not limited by these materials!
A journal full of open ended questions to collect an extensive amount of information on someone's experience. The journal could also be adapted into interview questions.
Postcards are short windows into what's on people's minds. This open-ended format lets someone share whatever they want, in a quick and easy format. The "bite-sized" nature of postcards also makes them easier to analyze.
An empathy map can be a worksheet for someone to fill out or a way to structure interview questions. In filling out the map, a person can focus on their day-to-day life, or a specific moment or experience.
